Diving in Lanzarote

Welcome to one of the top 100 world diving destination!
This is one of the best islands to dive in Canary Islands.

Playa Flamingo

Playa Flamingo

This is our House reef , This dive is impressive because of its simplicity and because of the quantity and variety of the schools of fish present there. You will get unbeatable visibility on the outside of the breakwater the majority of the year in this area. We can enjoy schools of bastard grunt, barracudas, salema, striped seabream, bogue, sand smelt, sardines and tuna that swim along the coast. The white sand serves as a hiding place for spotted torpedo, angel sharks and spiny butterfly ray, which is why we should not forget to look for their silhouette at the bottom.

Charco del Palo

Charco del Palo

This is a very good dive option when there are poor ocean conditions to the southwest. This spot is notable for its purely volcanic rocky landscape, sprinkled with white sand. There is an excellent sample here of many of the Canary ecosystems within a very small space. On the high part, the rocky bottom is covered in a colorful carpet of seaweed. Below 10 m, the Diadema urchin has created extensive urchin-grazed barrens, –rocks without algal covering named in Spanish as “blanquizal”- and the rocks, before they disappear into the fields of sand, tend to form cliffs and caves.

Veril de Playa Chica

Veril de Playa Chica

Playa Chica is ideal for all types of diving - the shallow areas are perfect decompression stops for advanced divers that want to go down into the depths of the numerous spectacular dives that can be done from this site. Caves, underwater cliffs, volcanic channels, deep water coral, sharks and even unexpected encounters with whales are possible at Playa Chica. This is Lanzarote’s premier dive site.

  • Depth: 0-40 m
  • Recommendations: OWD / AOWD
  • You can expect to find: Caves, underwater cliffs, volcanic channels, deep water coral, sometimes sharks
Pecios de Puerto del Carmen

Pecios de Puerto del Carmen

This dive is recommended for those that love shipwrecks. In just one dive, you can visit the remains of up to six wrecks. Curiously, the shallowest ones are the best preserved and one of them even protrudes from underneath the rocks of the jetty, offering a completely unusual view. The remains of the ships offer a completely different scenery than any other dive on the Island, which makes it a site in high demand by divers that visit Lanzarote for the first time.

Waikiki

Waikiki

The exotic name of this dive site captivates you instantly. When we go deeper into the water amongst the dense rocks at just a few meters deep, the play of light from the sun and the reflection off the white sand gives this place a truly tropical flavor. The dive could be done in this area alone, but in reality this spot is reserved for the security stop or for snorkeling because the site has much more to offer us if we go down to the cliff.

Cueva de las gambas

Cueva de las gambas

The Cueva de las Gambas (Shrimp Cave) is one of many nooks and crannies worth visiting. At the foot of the cliff, at a depth of about 40 m, a cave
gives shelter to swarms of narval shrimp. Dusky groupers lie in wait for the shrimp inside the dark cave and do not hesitate to pounce on them when they become visible by the light of our flashlights. The uniqueness and richness of the caves along the Puerto del Carmen cliff are so great that Europe has declared it a “Special Conservation Site” within the Natura 2000 Network.

Richies Place

Richies Place

Giant walls that go down into the abyss, amazing drop offs, immense sharp rocks, caves, underwater canyons, large sand bars, and arches - all of this makes up a spectacular landscape decorated with a thousand different types of life. The landscape is one of the strong points of this dive because of how varied it is. The nooks in the rocks shelter two orange corals and one small cave that is blanketed with narval shrimps.

  • Depth: 18-34 m
  • Recommendations: Suitable for Advanced Divers
  • You can expect to find: Narval shrimps and a great variety of other species can also be seen
Museo Atlantico

Museo Atlantico

The Museo Atlantico is the first underwater art museum in Europe. It aims to create a large artificial reef formed by sculptures made with neutral pH concrete that will in time increase its biomass.
The facilities include the work of Jason de Caires Taylor, highlighting the bond between art and nature allowing visitors to become aware of the importance of the sea and all natural resources.
